Support Avenues:
The Charity 'Beat' is one of the main providers of Eating Disorder information in the UK. It provides lots of helpful information about recognising the signs of an eating disorder and the steps you can take to get help.
The NHS website has a range of factual information about eating disorders and the steps you can take to get help.
Ultimately as an adult living in England, your first port of call for getting help via the NHS is to visit your GP and get refered. There are private options available which have their own pro's and con's. I discuss my treatment journey here:
If you are suffering with a mental health crisis you should ring 111 or 999 in an emergency
Eating disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of any mental health condition so it is important to seek support early on if you suspect that you might be developing / suffering from one. The majority of people with an eating disorder can go on to make a positive recovery so it is important to not lose focus that things can and will get better. The road to recovery is a bumpy one and as you might have read from my journey thus far, there will be ups and downs but making progress is achievable.
Along with the above websites, I found a documentary that Freddie Flintoff did on his battle with Bulimia really insightful and it helped me alot to see that it was 'normal' men featured who were all suffering with an eating disorder.
